LIFELIKE: Day 16

Hello! A bit of a brief update this week. I'm still working daily on LIFELIKE, but I'm honing in on specific areas that I either can't share or are a single bullet point for several days' worth of work. Regardless, I have some fun things to go over!

Let's get into it!

  • Most importantly, my first payout processed! This means that I am now able to get moving on buying a developer license to certify builds for Mac users so they are not quarantined on your computers! Mac download numbers are not great right now, I totally understand why people have been holding off, and I can't wait to make the game more accessible to those users. Again, I will update as that process unfolds (now that I am actually able to move forward with it)
  • MERCH IS HERE! Buy some cool stickers and help support development! @SGibdo on Twitter made the illustrations that you are able to buy and I'm very proud of how they turned out!
  • Dialogue revamps have been going along nicely, I've got about half of the new system in engine. It's going to allow me to implement dialogue events much faster than before with the added benefit of neat effects (which will be optional, via an accessibility menu toggle). Here it is in action:
  • Further updates for this include rebuilding character and portrait animation, and possibly updated talk portraits that animate more realistically, along with blinking. Realistic animation and blinking will happen once I am sure the text system is good to go and I have the time to implement it.
  • I've also started getting ready for track 2. The events of the episode are all established, I am now working on getting the script written. Character animation is also in the works!
  • Lastly... A certain event is coming up... I would give it a watch on JUNE 13th!
