LIFELIKE: Day 58


Happy Sunday! It’s time for more progress! I have things I can actually show you this time!

  • Track 1’s cutscenes are fully reimplemented in engine! There’s still a bit of work to be done regarding sprite changes that are unique to that track, but all dialogue and animations have been updated to the new system. Onto the Overture!
  • Track 2 artwork and scripting have been going nicely! Here’s some artwork to look at: 


  • Regarding scripting: the preliminary work of making sure story beats make sense and are as impactful as possible is just about over. (Don’t worry, I’ve had the story planned for some time, it’s a matter of getting all the details set as each episode is up next in the lineup.) This upcoming week I’ll be able to dive into writing the episode in earnest. 
  • Some QOL (quality of life) updates will be introduced into the next build of the game, including… A fancy save/load screen! You’ll be able to save and load from any existing track. The load screen as well as the map menu will include an objective blurb to remind you where you’re going next! The TRACKLIST menu is also in progress. This will contain all current episodes and update to include the latest with each release.
